Santa Monica Beach
Santa Monica Beach is a California State Beach operated by the City of Santa Monica. To put it simply—Santa Monica Beach is the essence of Southern California and Los Angeles beach culture. With a lively scene that includes a classic pier complete with amusement park, a bike/skate path, downtown shopping and dining district along with a wide, sandy beach--Santa Monica Beach has something for everyone.

Santa Monica has many hotels—some right on the beach, making for a wonderful weekend getaway. Day users will find plenty of food nearby as well as restrooms, showers, play areas for children and good handicap access.
Activities, attractions and things to do are almost unlimited at Santa Monica Beach. The beach itself stretches for 3.5 miles and is wide enough to allow visitors some breathing room even on busy days. Swimming, surfing, beach volleyball, biking, skating are just some of the activities you can enjoy.

Pacific Park Amusement Park atop Santa Monica Pier offers carnival-style rides, games and food. Santa Monica Pier Aquarium offers live sea life exhibits including a “touch tank” with sea stars, crabs, sea urchins, snails, kelp and sea cucumbers. Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade is just 3 blocks from the beach and is a walkable streetscape with tons of world-class restaurants and shopping. Downtown Santa Monica also offers farmer’s markets on Wednesdays, Saturdays (2) and Sundays 365 days per year rain or shine.
