Santa Monica has many hotels—some right on the beach, making for a wonderful weekend getaway. Day users will find plenty of food nearby as well as restrooms, showers, play areas for children and good handicap access.
Activities, attractions and things to do are almost unlimited at Santa Monica Beach. The beach itself stretches for 3.5 miles and is wide enough to allow visitors some breathing room even on busy days. Swimming, surfing, beach volleyball, biking, skating are just some of the activities you can enjoy.

Pacific Park Amusement Park atop Santa Monica Pier offers carnival-style rides, games and food. Santa Monica Pier Aquarium offers live sea life exhibits including a “touch tank” with sea stars, crabs, sea urchins, snails, kelp and sea cucumbers.
