Malibu Pier & Surfrider Beach
Nothing conveys the southern California experience quite like a drive along Pacific Coast Highway to the coastal community known as Malibu.
Stretching from Topanga on the east all the way to Zuma and beyond, Malibu encompasses a long stretch of coast and beaches along Pacific Coast Highway that runs for over 20 miles.
With famous beaches like Surfrider, Paradise Cove, Zuma State Beach and numerous “secret spots” located along PCH, Malibu has plenty of beaches to enjoy your day in the sun just like the celebrities that call Malibu home.
Hikers will enjoy nearby Malibu Creek State Park and the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. There are dozens of trails that climb the coastal hills and afford panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.
Note: Hotels are distinctly absent along the Malibu Coast except for a few inns and B&B’s. For a wide selection of accommodations see the hotels in Santa Monica. Also, don’t expect an abundance of low-cost or fast-food eateries. There are however some wonderful beachside restaurants and pubs for visitors to enjoy—just bring a shirt and some flip-flops.
